Our Senior Pastor
Reverend Sereta Collington, also known as the journaling pastor because of her passion for journaling, is a wife of 18 years and a mother of three boys. Besides being a puzzle lover and a runner, pastor Collington is the author of three inspiring books for those who seek to fall in love with the Bible: “Scripture Memorization Journal,” “Becoming One with Christ,” and “The Through Journal.
She studies to show herself approval by receiving a Master of Divinity from Knox Theological Seminary. She also has two Bachelor’s degrees: A Bachelor of Arts in Humanities, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and a Master of Education. Rev Sereta Collington is a sought-after presenter for many spiritual workshops and events.
As an iterant elder in the Baltimore Annual Conference, pastor Collington served as associate Pastor at St. Stephens AME Essex under Rev. Dr. Williams A. Gray III and the Rev. Dr. Christopher Paul Burnett. They then assigned her to first charge as the Holy Trinity AME Church pastor, Rock Hall, MD. In April 2021, they transferred her to her current charge as pastor of the historical Mount Zion AME Church. As a servant leader, Pastor Collington seeks to inspire others through the Word of God. Her life scripture is Genesis 5:24: “Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more because God took him away.” The greatest desire of this daughter of God is to serve the Lord like Enoch, that her life entirely depends on Him as He takes her breath away.
